What I love most about being a family photographer in NYC is the chance to meet the most inspiring people at any and every turn and capture their most tender moments! I met Alexis when I put out a model call last year and we instantly just clicked (don’t you love when that happens?!). She and her husband Tolu were anxious parents to be and wanted to make sure they were prepared to do this Mother + Father thing just right.

They recently came back in for a family session, now that little Zion is here and running the show!

They are as loving as I thought they would be and the JOY in Tolu’s eyes when Zion looks over at him, his broad smile when his son giggles, and the pride in his stance admiring his wife in all elegance with their son lit the studio. Alexis read every book she could to prepare for Motherhood but it’s such a joy and a wonder watching her naturally move in her new role and attend to her baby while loving on her husband with ease, new mommy tired but heart-full. I beamed behind the camera the entire session.

How infectious is that smile?! I quickly learned they are a family of rock-stars and Dad has produced an entire album dedicated to his family and a few of the tracks have quickly become a studio playlist favorite.
