I remember as a little girl going over to my mother’s best friend’s home and staring at her incredible gallery wall along her staircase wall. Images that went back 3 generations from the West Indies to Europe to finally those who had settled here in New York and thought it was amazing to see all the faces of her heritage, she was big on knowing where we come from and that was clear in your home. It didn’t stop there, she had gorgeous frames of children on her piano and coffee tables scattered around her living room and everywhere, there was something to look at of people she loved. I think even back then, I knew prints were important.
